This morning I find myself looking back over 2020….and for me, it wasn’t the worst year ever. It wasn’t even close.
First, in 2020 I am celebrating 3 years of sobriety. Not everyone understands this, but for those who do, you understand what a big deal this is. I cherish that life has gotten easier. I cherish that my demons are diminishing. I cherish happiness…and 2020 has brought some amazing miracles and milestones with it.
In 2020, the grace of God granted us Avery Rose. We prayed and longed for her safe arrival, but there wasn’t a day that went by without fear…fear of the unknown and fear of losing her. On January 15th, 2020, God delivered this little miracle safe into our lives. As I watched her come into the world, I knew how blessed we all were. What a miracle to witness, as the room was filled with the sound of her strong cries. And “HOLY COW! THIS BABY HAS A FULL HEAD OF HAIR!” 🙂 Another small miracle!
This sweet girl added something to our family that we didn’t even know was missing. She has somehow completed us.
And after 8 weeks in the NICU, I finally got to take my grand daughter’s newborn photos! 🙂 Then 6 month…then 9 month….and next week it will be one year photos!
And how about this? My mom turned 90! Yes….90!!! So 2020 has another miracle! And my 90 year old mother was able to hold her new great grand daughter in 2020!
Then Miss Hayden….another miracle indeed. We have experienced some difficulties, that as parents, we never think we will have to endure. I have always had problems with depression and anxiety, but to see it manifest in my precious child was something else entirely. This is a long story, and one I am not ready share….but I will say this…my daughter is thriving! She has come so far, and to see her coming into herself has been a blessing I can not describe. She has conquered difficulties and has put herself out there….through cheerleading, through school events, through learning how to achieve high grades. She truly is a wonder! I thank God every single day for everything she has achieved in 2020!!
We also felt super lucky to celebrate Hayden’s 12th Birthday with our family! The family time has been limited this year, so this was another moment I was super grateful for!
Another wonder of 2020….Eric and I hiked 50 miles through Cloud Peak Wilderness this summer. We hiked all the way to the top of Bomber Mountain during this trip, which was challenging but so rewarding! There isn’t much that I love more than being in the wilderness! Looking forward to another trip in 2021!
And I was grateful to spend time at our second home at Canyon Ferry Lake over Labor Day! We are blessed to have access to a place such as this!
And how about celebrating an engagement? I am blessed to have TJ as apart of our family, and am so thankful for the happiness he brings my daughter!
And last but not least…..Alex graduated college with her degree in Marketing!
So what do I have to say about 2020? Well I am SO BLESSED AND GRATEFUL. Looking forward to what 2021 has to offer!
And thank you to all of my wonderful clients for making this job so amazing! Thank you for sharing your babies, your families, your seniors, and your lives with me!! Keep it coming!!!
